Note Andy's Mandolin to Paul's right.

ed's armies
As we were testing the wargames rules we brought our armies. Here we have ed's 15 mm Orc nomad and 25mm Darken Temple army in glorious paper. Most of the figures are based on those by Patrick Crusiau. The others were bought from Microtactix.

ed vs Francis

ed's paper Orcs vs a Darken Temple Army made up of Steve's metal miniatures. Francis Tiffany commanding the Temple forces.

History does not record the result (though Francis does)

Panorama of the Sunday Afternoon big playtest of Heroes of Marakush using the C&S mass wargames rules. Click on the pic for a slightly bigger version.

From the left. Francis Tiffany, Ed Simbalist, (seated) Dave Blewitt,.(standing0 onlooker, Steve Turner, Sue Turner, Richard Ostridge (onlooker) Paul Vissing, Andy Staples and Tim Smith (sorry about cropping your head Tim). ed is behind the castle but then again, he's the one taking the picture.

the assault
Late on in the assault. Blew's mage has teleported archers to the siege tower to take it, the paper archers over the gate are an illusion cast by ed's mage, who have so convinced the enemy that one unit are incapacitated (tipped over, base facing camera)
